About Cancer Computer

Make no mistake, cancer is one of the most significant human challenges in our history.

– Siddhartha Mukherjee, Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies

Supercomputer for Cancer Research (Cancer Computer), a volunteer-based organization, was incorporated as a Canadian, non-profit organization in May of 2015. A request for charitable status with the Canada Revenue Agency was submitted in September of 2015. While we are registered in Canada, our services are available to researchers around the world.

Cancer Computer believes that computers, directed by researchers and informatics professionals, will find the cure for cancer[1]. We believe that the dependence on high performance computing for research is increasing, but access to these computing resources and qualified IT personnel to manage them, is not keeping pace[2].

Leveraging our resources and expertise, we aim to help mitigate this gap. Cancer Computer provides a cloud-based, integrated platform for collaborative, cancer research. Our mission is to be a significant resource for researchers in Computing for the Cure.
