We’re pleased to announce that we’re going to be standing up a Big Data cluster in our Aberdeen street office. This will allow us to do machine learning on unstructured data sets of research and clinical data. As a nascent charity, sometimes it takes a while for all the pieces to come together. In the case of this cluster, donated office space by ISM Immune System Management, servers by Ross Video, a server rack by Vantage IT Corp. Donations by supporters of Cancer Computer help finish off the cluster by allowing us to buy a TV for display status, network cabling and a UPS. Finally, we couldn’t do any of this, without volunteers like Simon Quigley helping to upgrade the systems, and get them in working order.
